FAQs

Often when a person enters to a kind of knowledge with certain prejudices or doubts, these are those that habitually asked me those that begin their way with the mandalas:

What a Mandala is?
A Mandala is mainly a geometric design that has been used in different cultures in a ceremonial way, as amulet or as a meditation tool. We find variety of them in all the ancient cultures, as well as they usually appear spontaneously in the drawing of children as well as in people with certain mental pathologies; this fact had been propelled the study in this ways from the psychology - mainly Jungian and Gestalt -.

There is a unique Mandala for each person?
Not. However it is common that “sympathies " or " dislikes " are generated with certain shapes and colors, but that situation could change with the stage of life, the emotional moment or special circumstances. A Mandala that we reject in a moment it could became attractive for us, and maybe we want to have it with us.

The Mandala cures?
In certain way we generate the cure process in ourselves, in most of the cases without intervention of the will and in a unconscious way. The Mandala allows a linkage with our internal Self who has the necessary wisdom to grant us the experiences that we need in our path. Any practice that we carry out with Mandalas: meditation, concentration, drawing, painting, etc., generates a gradual development from a lot of beneficial qualities to mental level, like concentration, patience, rest, harmony and well-being; and also other reactions in the cerebral chemistry that stimulate the immunologic system. In this way we should take the healing power of the Mandala.

If I don't know how to draw: Can I make my own Mandala?
Definitively yes. The art of drawing and painting is in great part a training process, and unless someone has a serious health problem, we will be able to carry out some Mandalas. As the time passes our dexterities will be increasing and we will be able to gain confidence to draw Mandalas more and more complex, but that fact doesn't mean that the simple Mandala has not a lot of meanings.

Could the energy of the Mandala affect me?
Certain people believe that a Mandala can be taken almost like a generator of energy. Although this is in a way correct, it is only it in a subtle plane, therefore anything “odd " will happen if we look at it too much, or if we have it permanently in contact with us. It is also correct that some particularly sensitive people, or those who have a high training in meditation, could feel vibratory changes in presence of certain Mandalas.
